Washington Butler is a Puyallup native who was fascinated by arts and culture from an early age. She was a performer in high school theatre and in the community theatre. Her move from Los Angeles to study theatre at the University of Southern California and later, she played Belle the princess of Beauty and the Beast for about a year at Disneyland. After she quit school, she began searching for an agency to represent her talents and auditioning to work in film and television. Butler guest-starred on the television series CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.She was cast in the film A Couple of White Chicks at the Hair Dresser as well as The 2008 Syfy TV horror film Flu Bird Horror. In 2008, Butler played a recurring role on the web-based series of Don Stark, Luke 1117. Butler was also a regular character in I Love Vampires, a web-based series. Butler won the leading role in 2010's rape-revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave. This remake is a re-make from 1978 of the cult classic of the same name. While initially dissuaded by the film's nakedness and its violence, the film's strong female edge and character arc convinced her to play the part. Butler starred in Jennifer Hills as a writer who was brutally sexually assaulted in a hotel room while in vacation. Steven R. In November 2011, Butler as well as Estella Warren started filming the psychological thriller The Stranger Within in Mallorca the Spanish island of Mallorca.
